The following are the serovars which most frequently react with human sera
obtained from different regions of Ecuador. The [agglutination MAT tests
were carried out by Dr. Luis Vasco at Laboratorios Veterinarios de la
Sierra y Oriente, Ministerio de Salud (fax number 593-2- 690-749).

Sierra-Andean region (Pichincha province): _L. icterohaemorrhagiae_,
copenhageni, tarassovi, hardjo, hebdomadis, pomona, australis, autumnalis,
pyrogenes, canicola, castelloni, sejroe.

Coast (Manabi and Esmeraldas provinces): _L. icterohaemorrhagiae_,
tarassovi, hardjo, pomona, autumnalis, pyrogenes, canicola, castelloni,
sejroe.

Amazon basin: _L. icterohaemorrhagiae_, wolffi, hardjo, pomona, autumnalis,
australis, pyrogenes, canicola, castelloni, sejroe.

One has to be [very ... MHJ careful when it comes to interpreting
serologic data. I do not have data on human isolates.
