The Municipal & State Secretaries of Health confirmed yesterday the first
case of dengue [in 1999 in the city of Sao Paulo. An inhabitant of the
district of Jaguare, in the [state capital, contracted the disease there.
He presented with the first symptoms on 14 Apr 1999; confirmation was made
by serology.
