A H5N1 outbreak in poultry was confirmed by the reference lab of [China's]
MOA on 3 Oct 2006. The outbreak occurred in Yinchuan [capital and largest
city] of Ningxia Hui [autonomous region] of China, where 1000 poultry died
and 72 930 were culled.

[The above information was included in China's Avian Influenza follow-up
report No. 20 to the Office International des Epizooties, dated 4 Oct 2006,
mentioning the name of the affected village, He Lanshan. The same
notification included details of another outbreak, namely in the village of
Xincheng, Baotou, Inner Mongolia, where 985 poultry died and 8990 were
culled; see <http://www.oie.int/eng/info/hebdo/aIS_76.htm#Sec9>.
