[PRO/MBDS would like to thank Dr. Huu Dung for alerting us to the OIE
report on the PRRS outbreak in Viet Nam. The report is available at
<http://www.oie.int/wahid-prod/public.php?page=single_report&pop=1&reportid=5248>
and is reproduced below. According to the report there are 7
outbreaks of PRRS, involving 5 provinces. Earlier newswires had
mentioned affected animals in Hanoi, but later stated that these
animals were imported from other areas. The below OIE report does
not mention any involvement in animals in Hanoi, suggesting that
either the newswires were erroneous or cases imported to other
provinces are being reported as occurring in their province of origin.
