said a report of the Department of Animal Health under the Ministry

Currently, health officials and local authority are adopting measures

from spreading to other places.
In another development, blue ear disease continues to occur in 2
communes of the northern province of Hung Yen during the past 2 days
[18-19 Apr 2010], affecting 89 pigs.
At present, the disease is happening in the north of Viet Nam,

Binh, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong, said the report.

[According to the newswire, approximately 2060 pigs in Hai Phong and
89 pigs in Hung yen provinces were affected by porcine reproductive
and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) or blue ear disease.
Based on Viet Nam's Department of Animal Health (DAH) updates on
highly pathogenic avian influenza, blue ear, and foot-and-mouth
disease (FMD), PRRS outbreaks continue to spread in Hung Yen where,
to date, the disease has affected approximately 10 000 pigs. PRRS
outbreaks have occurred in 6 provinces (Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Thai
Nguyen, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong) in Viet Nam during the past 21 days.
