[Encephalitis cases continue to occur in northeastern India and Nepal. Although there is no explicit diagnosis of the viruses associated with contanminated water, that does suggest enteroviruses as the main etiologic agents involved in these cases, with just 10 per cent due to infection with Japanese encephalitis virus.
