A recent outbreak in West Yorkshire belies the fact that rates of
giardiasis in the United Kingdom have been for decreasing several
years. In the attached graph, I've added the United States data for
comparison:

[It is difficult to interpret the decline in reported cases of
giardiasis. Assuming that sampling has been constant and that
diagnostic methods have not changed, it could indicate a real
decrease in the incidence of human giardiasis. - Mod.EP]
